The Roosevelt County Road Department will begin work Oct. 9, on South Roosevelt Road AK south from Elida. Improvements include patching, minor shoulder repair and a rubberized fog seal application for eleven miles on South Roosevelt Road AK, between South Roosevelt Road 24 and South Roosevelt Road 35 . This road project is expected to be completed by Oct. 11, weather permitting.

This project is funded by the NM Environment Department Solid Waste Bureau. Roosevelt County was awarded $78,000 in RAID grant funds for this project in 2018. The material process incorporates scrapped tire rubber. The fog seal will add a layer of protection to the road for increased longevity.

All drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes during the construction process. Please watch for road department personnel, slowdown in construction zones and expect delays.
