Patricia Ann Cantwell was born Feb. 14, 1949, in Lynwood, CA to the home of Marjorie Ruth (Lukensmeyer) and William Edgar Brack, and passed from this life on July 29, 2026 in Loving, NM. The family moved to Clovis in 1966, and Pat graduated from Clovis High School in 1967. Following graduation she attended Baylor University her freshman year. She returned to Clovis that summer and on Aug. 2, 1968 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church she was married to Larry Dean Cantwell. Following their marriage, they moved to Albuquerque where she attended the University of New Mexico. Pat graduated at the top of her class with a degree in Pharmacy in 1972.
Following her graduation, they moved to Portales to make their home. For approximately 15 years, Pat worked as the Pharmacist at Portales Drug Co. When Thrifty Drug opened, Pat went to work there. After six years at Thrifty Drug, she accepted a position in Clovis at Roden Smith Pharmacy, and later worked at the Medicine Shop Pharmacy where in addition to other customers, they filled prescriptions for a number of local rest homes. In 1993, Pat became the Pharmacist at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales. Her last place of employment was at the local Wal Mart Pharmacy.
In addition to her Pharmacy degree, Pat went on to earn a Doctorate in Biblical Archeology and Hebrew Studies from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque. Six times she made trips to the Middle East to work on archeological sites. Her main work was in Jordan where they were excavating Sodom and Gomorrah.
Throughout her life Pat was an avid student of the Scriptures. For many years, she presented Communion Devotionals at Central Christian Church in Portales. In addition, she attended and taught Precept Bible Studies in the area. After many years at Central Christian Church, she and her husband conducted church services at Wheatfield Senior Living Community in Clovis. Larry led the music, and Pat delivered the message. Beginning in 2017, they began attending University Baptist Church. In 2022 they sold their home and moved to Loving, NM to be near their daughter and son-in-law and their grandchildren.
Besides her daily searching of the Scriptures, Pat loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Traveling to visit her son and daughter-in-law, as well as her other travels to the Middle East were a great source of fulfillment and enjoyment. She had a great love for reading and attending to her plants. Pat also loved to shop, especially at Dillards!
She is survived by Larry, her husband of only a few days less than 58 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Brandi Cantwell of Kingsport, TN; her daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Quentin Talbot of Loving, NM; her two grandchildren, Tell and True Talbot; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sheila Brack of Las Cruces, NM and Brian and Jennifer Brack of El Paso, TX; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kathie and Greg Burnside of Edmonds, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, William Brack, Jr. and Bill Munster.
