Coaches Report by : Candra Reynolds

The girls have been mentally focused on improving their short game by keeping the putts down to a two putt or less on each hole.  This strategy has worked well for their individual scores which contributes to our success in claiming our final two qualifying legs at The Spring Classic.

The first round on Monday at Spring River the team finished the day with their second qualifying leg with a team score of 407.

On Tuesday at NMMI the ladies finished the round with a team score of 392 claiming the third and final qualifying leg to earn them a spot to compete at the State Golf Championship in Farmington at Pinon Hills.

I am really proud of all the ladies for their mental strength and ability to stay focused on shaving strokes and making smart decisions.

Janae Hale is really striking the ball well and rolling her putts outstandingly.  It’s great having her leadership on this young team this year.  Janae finished the tournament in fifth place overall.  She shot 86 at Spring River on Monday and Tuesday she finished her round with a score of 77.

We will finish our season on Tuesday as we travel to Lovington.  We will be competing at the Links in Ruidoso for District on Monday May 1st. and Farmington for the State Championship on May 8-9th.  This will close out our 2017 season.  Go Rams!
