Randall Wayne Small August 6, 1967 ~ May 3, 2025 (age 57)

Funeral services for Randall Small, 57, of Portales, will be held at 10:00 AM, Sat., May 10, 2025 at the Central Christian Church with Pastor Don Thomas officiating, assisted by Rev. Cheston Fair.  Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Roger Sink, Jay Newton, Alan Carter, Corey Sexton, Jess Laman, and Lonnie Banister serving as pallbearers.  Josh Ross and J’Kobie Lee have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Randall Wayne Small, known to most as Randy, was born August 6, 1967 in Clovis to the home of Rita Ruth (Oldham) and Jessie “Wayne” Small and passed from this life on Saturday, May 3, 2025 after a lengthy battle with liver disease.  Randy graduated from Portales High School in 1985.  During his school career, he was active in FFA.  As a boy he participated in Little Wranglers rodeos, and continued in college at Eastern as a bull rider.

On June 7, 1997, in Gallup, NM he was married to Jana Dawn Harris.  Their home was blessed with the birth of two sons. He was employed as the Employment Supervisor for ENMRSH.  Randy loved to hunt and fish.  He was also an accomplished archer, and participated in several Archery tournaments.  In addition, Randy trained bird dogs for several years.  He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and a member of Central Christian Church.

He is survived by Jana, his wife of nearly 28 years of Portales; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Cody and Jamie Small and Trenton and Hope Small also of Portales; his three grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey and Hunter Small; his mother, Rita Small of Portales; his brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Jessica Small of Portales; and his sister, Pamela Hemphill of Harrison, AR.
