SWEETWATER, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico rodeo program competed at the Ranger College Rodeo Thursday, March 25- Saturday, March 27.

The women’s team placed fourth overall with 140 points behind Sul Ross (305 points), Tarleton State (190 points), and Frank Phillips (160 points).

In goat tying, Madelyn Schauer clocked a time of 7.0 seconds in the first go and 6.9 seconds in the short go to place third in the short go and average. Shacie Marr had times of 7.1 in both the first go and short go which was good for fourth place in the short go and fifth place in the average.

The breakaway roping event had 155 ropers. Amanda Brown split fourth, fifth, and sixth in the first go with a time of 2.1 seconds. Lauren Ann Hopkins split seventh and eighth with a time of 2.2 seconds in the first go.

Trinity Kizer placed 10th in the first go of barrel racing with a time of 15.06 seconds.

Eastern competes next at the Howard College Rodeo in Big Spring, Texas from April 8- April 10.
