Graveside services for Naomi “Kathy” Hall, 90, of Odessa, TX will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., Jan. 23, 2019 in the Portales Cemetery with Rev. John McLemore officiating. All members of her family will serve as honorary pallbearers. Naomi Kathleen “Kathy” Hall was born May 10, 1928 on a ranch near Grady, NM to the home of Virgie Naomi (Roberson) and Walter Grant Hamlett, and passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Jan. 16, 2019 at her residence in Odessa, TX, where she lived with her daughter, Margaret and her son-in-law, Jim. She had been well cared for by Hospice of Midland-Odessa, Chris Suchil, Celia Flowers and Carolina Munoz.
Kathy was the second child, and only girl of seven children. She helped her parents in the care of her younger siblings. Kathy grew up in Clovis, NM where she graduated from High School in 1945. She was working in a drug store in Portales, and was walking across the street to go to the movies, when she met Mace Hall. She and Mace Herman Hall were married Oct. 17, 1947 in Clovis. The couple had two daughters. During her lifetime, Kathy had lived in numerous states, including New Mexico, California and Texas. Kathy was trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and had worked in various hospitals, including Odessa Medical Center where she received her training. She had also worked at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales. At the time of her death she was a member of Belmont Baptist Church in Odessa.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jim Hawkins of Odessa, TX; a son-in-law, Les Shull of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren, John Shull and Jack Shull and his wife, Jenny and their children, Anson and Alana Shull, Samuel Hawkins and Andrew Hawkins and his wife, Monique and their daughter, Kadence Hawkins; and by her youngest brother, Terry Hamlett of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Billy, Teddy, Larry, Maurice and Bobby Hamlett; a daughter, Dianne Shull who died in 2013 and by her beloved husband, Mace Hall who died Jan. 11, 1997.
