A handmade quilt exhibit and fundraiser opens to the public Monday evening, starting at 7pm, to benefit the Portales Public Library.

The exhibit features local and out of town quilts, which are accompanied by a short story. These beautiful works of art will be on display for the month of October. Then, they will then be auctioned off in a silent auction that is scheduled for Nov. 1-17. The proceeds will go to benefit the Friends of Portales Library, which is an organization that works to help improve the library and library programs for the citizens of Portales.

There is a reception scheduled for Monday (Oct. 1) evening, from 4:30-6 pm at the Library to kickoff the exhibit.

The event is an outreach to the community that will benefit our local library, and fund programs happening within our library.

You are invited to come visit the exhibit and enjoy the stories these talented individuals have created!
